I was in bit dilemma as what exactly to write this time. It took me long time and finally I decided to quote a poem which i came across during our soft skill project which was based on Life of beggars at traffic signal. Impact was so huge on us that we created a social cell called "Prathmikta" for making educating children's of beggar and people living on streets. It’s been 9 months and 18 days that i have post graduated and left college, but that thing still dwells in me and haunts me to do more work so that Prathmikta may stand on large scale and help more and more people.

When the sun falls, and the moon comes bright
The shadow falls all over my life,
They say life is a struggle to strive for the best
For me it’s a few hours of rest…
I don’t need your love, I don’t need your sympathy
Just give me a penny, to fill my stomach which is for a day empty.
Don’t know what lies in the future can’t say what lies ahead
Why I was born, I always regret…
My dream of life oh God, bless me with four shoulders
What can take me to ultimate heights…
Don’t hurt me, don’t laugh at me
I’m your mere reflection, give me some dignity…
We at Prathmikta dedicate this piece of art to all the underprivileged people and by this poem we want to change the way our society look to beggars who make their home at thousands of traffic signal in India. Hope by this effort at least we change their attitude towards them. It has definitely change ours.
Thank You
